By @SimonCocking. We caught up with the FutureScope organisers to find out more about their ‘One2Watch’ initiative, which has a series of great prizes on offer for the winning entrants. The closing date to apply is March 31st, to find out more read on, and for more details on how to enter see here.
What is the One2Watch initiative?
Dublin BIC is running a competition in the lead up to FutureScope to find the most scalable business idea. There will be four finalists, identified from all entries up to 31st March, who will get an opportunity to pitch their idea at FutureScope to a panel of expert judges. The start-up with the most scalable idea will be crowned the FutureScope One2Watch 2017, winning a package of start-ups supports including the opportunity to share their business idea to an audience of 1000+ on the FutureScope main stage.
Who is the competition aimed at?
This is aimed at any company or entrepreneur in any sector. The business needs to be early stage (incorporated in the last 5 years). The idea needs to be beyond concept stage.
The application form is hosted on the F6S platform and can be accessed on www.futurescope.ie/one2watch
It is very simple and quick to complete.
What will make a good application?
We are looking for:
An idea that addresses a market need – the bigger the market opportunity the more scalable the idea.
In addition, the evaluators will look for a description of your product/service solution, business model and value proposition. They will also expect to see evidence of an understanding of the market and your prospective customer.
Finally, having the right team identified, or in place, to capture this opportunity will be a key element in a successful application.
What do you win?
Who is assessing applications? Who is judging?
Dublin BIC consultants will assess all entries and will select a shortlist of four finalists who will come to FutureScope on 10th May to pitch their idea to a panel of expert judges from the ecosystem. The panel of five judges who will include Gary Leyden from NDRC and Bernadette O’Reilly from DIT Hothouse, will then select the overall winner of FutureScope One2Watch 2017 and go on to pitch on the main stage.
