Irish start up – grows up 25 new jobs and 1 new Dublin home for NewsWhip

NewsWhip, the Irish tech start-up company launched in 2012, has announced a move to new Dublin headquarters and the 100% expansion of its workforce.

From March 22nd, 2016 NewsWhip will be located at NewsWhip House on Dublin’s prestigious Merrion Square (#47).  The move to the 4 story 200 year old Georgian building facilitates the expansion of the company’s workforce from 25 jobs in January to 50 jobs before June 2016.

The jobs are for a variety of technical and sales positions including Machine Learning Specialists, Product Designers, Front End & Java Engineers, and account managers.  Every new employee will be instrumental in helping the company’s mission to deliver signals of important events and news stories to a global customer base – such as renowned international newsrooms, government agencies in UK, USA and Canada, household blue chip brands and global PR agencies.

The company also employs 12 people in its New York office. Further job announcements are expected later this year.

NewsWhip has built a global reputation for its unique technological platform, Spike, which monitors digital media  and identifies important events and stories based on their ‘Social Velocity’ – how many new interactions stories get in real time.  Spike, along with NewsWhip’s two other core products, Analytics and API, delivers signals to anyone who wants to monitor or influence the spread of information.

Founded by Irish entrepreneur Paul Quigley and  software engineer  Andrew Mullaney, NewsWhip’s impressive portfolio of clients today includes news companies like the BBC, The Guardian and the Washington Post, international brands including Intel and MasterCard, and marketing, advertising and PR agencies such as Edelman and OMD.

One NewsWhip client, Reebok, recently installed NewsWhip’s technology at the heart of their new global brand newsroom at their Boston HQ.  There staff using the NewsWhip platform monitor international social engagement with their content, stay alert to developing stories in their space, and research new marketing ideas each day.  According to the newsroom’s Senior Director, Dan Mazei, “NewsWhip is like a magic bullet for media strategy,” adding “all of the disparate dots between trends in coverage, conversation and sharing are seamlessly connected” by NewsWhip.

Paul Quigley (CEO and Co-Founder)

“We’re proudly based in Dublin and serving our data and services to the world. It’s thrilling to see the team grow and expand – and our new HQ is a perfect new home.

That real proof of the quality in what we do is our winning over the market leaders in media and PR, including the likes of MasterCard, Edelman and the Washington Post.

Although we’re very much an internationally-focussed business, our technology was developed and will continue to grow from our Dublin base.”

Andrew Mullaney (CTO and Co-Founder)

“NewsWhip tracks the stories that matter around the world in real time, and we want to get even better at detecting and signalling events and stories at the right time.

We’re already building cutting-edge tech for our clients, who include leading publishers, brands, and communications professionals. And we’re building it all from the centre of Dublin.

Our new hires will be working on building out our technology even further to make sure we’re the definitive solution for tracking what matters most right now.”
