JHI has a unique business model. It combines top legal talent and technology solutions to allow clients the opportunity to outsource data-heavy legal review processes. The company announced yesterday, that it has entered into an exclusive three year contract with ESB and has recently signed terms with Siemens UK Plc, the world’s leading global electrical engineering company, in respect of its legal support services.
“Big data means big challenges. Large international law firms and corporations are drowning in a sea of routine legal review requirements. At Johnson Hana International, we’re helping our clients to streamline their legal processes whilst dramatically reducing their legal spend. We take care of large scale document review processes allowing them to focus on high-value core activities, boost productivity and ultimately profit margins.
Speaking of their Dublin based review centre, JHI CEO Dan Fox says:
“Traditionally, companies have chosen to outsource their large-scale review processes to foreign jurisdictions such as India and the Philippines. Language and time barriers can however raise significant challenges in service provision. We staff and manage our highly qualified legal teams from a specialist review facility in Dublin, which makes what we do very attractive to UK and Irish clients. We’re seeing companies opt to ‘near-shore’ these important but labour-intensive services to ensure optimum delivery.”
In the past few months, JHI has raised significant funding through private equity investment. They are seeking to build on their share of a global legal processing market valued in excess of €1.5 Billion with annual growth projected at 20%. As JHI’s client list expands, so too will their personnel requirements:
“We’re at the forefront of developing Ireland as a hub for data management and review services. It is an exciting time for us and we aim to create 200 jobs in Dublin by the end of 2017.”
JHI’s service caters for a wide spectrum of routine legal work such as discovery review as part of the litigation process, contracts review, due diligence and compliance. They have provided services for some of the most high profile litigations and other document review processes in Ireland whilst developing further business relationships with large international law firms and corporates in the UK.
The company, headquartered on Kildare Street in Dublin, has recently announced a number of senior appointments including:
Jennifer Caldwell (a former Managing Partner of global law firm, Maples) – Chairperson.
Jasper Allen (Scholium Group plc ) – Director.
Stuart Margetson (former commercial litigation partner at Matheson).
