Ireland Named 6th Most ‘Crypto-ready’ Country in the World

New research from Crypto Head, shows a list of ten crypto-ready countries with Ireland places 6th in terms of being ready for cryptocurrencies via a range of categories.

What qualifies a ‘Crypto-ready’ country

As Crypto Head notes, more people are using and investing in popular currencies like Bitcoin and Dogecoin. Crypto Head investigated which countries present the lost opportunity for people to start trading and investing and who shows the most interest.

They took a data-driven dive into different factors like the number of crypto ATMs in the country, and how accessible they are to the general population. On top of that, they examined the countries’ respective governments’ stance on crypto ownership and if they can be used in banks, lastly what interest is there, the number of online searches and increase in these recently.

Ireland is 6th on this list, of the categories examined, it saw 24,189 searches per 100,000 people for crypto in the last year, this is a 140.3% increase in searches, it has 35 crypto ATMs around the country, which services 142,211 per ATM, in a 775 square mile. The country also allows for crypto ownership and use, landing the country with a score of 6.05/10, now to get into the top five.

Coming in at number one is the United States at 7.13/10, in terms of crypto ATMs, the USA has over 17,000 which is by far the most in the world. This is significant as the next country has 16,000 less, US law allows for crypto ownership and use in banks, and there has been a 140% increase in searches for crypto in the past year.

Next is Cyprus at 6.47/10, the island sees 33,941 people per 100,000 who searched for cryptos in the last year, this level of interest is the highest in any country in the world. Cyrpus also allows the use and ownership of cryptos and there was a 139.6% increase in searches in the past year.

Next up is Singapore at 6.3/10, it also has over 30,000 searches per 100,000 people, and the law also allows for owning and using cryptos, there are 10 crypto ATMs and due to its size, this equates to an ATM every 28 square miles. Hong Kong is next at 6.27/10, one of the densest populations at 7.5 million people into an area less than 500 square miles, it is also concentrated with crypto ATMs.

There are 124 in the country which is one on average every 3 square miles and one for every 60,000 people, Hong Kong also saw online searches for crypto more than double, and their laws allow full use of cryptos. In 5th place is the UK with 6.06/10, interest in crypto has grown rapidly with a 205% increase in crypto searches this last year.

Britain also has the third-highest number of crypto ATMs with 200 dotted around the country, the government also allows for the usage and ownership of crypto.
