Ireland can be the world leader in Cyber Risk – Cyber Threat Summit: Dublin, October 24th

Edited and prepared by Oscar Michel, Masters in Journalism, DCU

Great interview with James Kelly from the Cyber Threat Summit explaining what the event will be.

When is it on?

October 24th in The Helix, DCU Campus, Dublin

How many years has it been going?

This will be our seventh year

What was the inspiration to start it?

I think the inspiration came from a mix of a couple of things. I firmly believe Ireland can be the world leader in Cyber Risk and we have some of the best experts in the world so I thought it would be good idea to have an event than can promote Ireland as the leader in Cyber Risk.

What exciting things can people look forward to for the 2017 version?

We have totally remodeled the way in which the event will be ran from our previous years. We have moved to a bigger venue, more speakers, more exhibitors, we will be covering topics from every angle so there will be something for the CEO of a bank right down to someone who is just curious in the subject of Cyber Risk.

What opportunities are on offer for people / startups / investors and companies attending?

The opportunity for people attending will be to hear from experts in each subject matter related to cyber risk from around the world. We have a dedicated area for startups away from the large organisations that they will be able to show potential customers and investors what they can bring to the table and if they are really brave they have the opportunity present to over 1000 people!

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

The best thing to do would be regularly checking the website and the agenda page and make a checklist of the people who you would like to see speak and then make your own personal agenda.

How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?

People can get their tickets from the event website and the ticket icon is on the top right on the page
