1 min pitch for what you are doing now?
Reimagining healthcare delivery in a manner that empowers the consumer. We are pursuing the goal of effective coordination of care across stakeholders that does not rely upon the integration of backend systems. We are after a much more efficient model of benefits administration where transparency and accountability replace opacity, complexity and unnecessary cost.
How were the last 12 months, what worked well, what didn’t move as quickly as you would have liked?
What has happened quickly is that Cryptocurrencies have defied all predictions of imminent demise or irrelevance to become a force.
It is now forcing enterprises and governments to acknowledge the disruptive potential of the technology and digital tokens
What hasn’t happened much is a proper discourse on how big the disruptive potential is. We are still largely faced with two polar opposites viewpoints – it is a fad that will pass sooner or later and it is a disruptive force that will redefine and replace the whole business and governance model based centralized systems and control.
Obviously, the truth lies in the middle and that fact does not diminish the importance and urgency with which serious dialogue needs to happen
What are your plans for the future?
We are intently focused on healthcare delivery around the world and how a decentralized approach can bring incalculable value to lives of citizens around the world while benefiting societies in terms of cost reduction and better health outcomes.
Our approach is to build a platform and an active community of developers who can enhance and extend our platform and partners who can adapt our platform to the needs of various healthcare delivery models a digital healthcare and we plan to be an active and contributing member of the Blockchain community. So we are investing a lot of resources in event participation, online and on-premise. We plan to contribute our deep domain expertise and market knowledge to the community to foster the development of Blockchain technologies in meaningful ways and adoption by business and governments.
What did you talk about at this event?
Our passion and focus is on making healthcare accessible, transparent, effective for all and efficient in administration. One of the key concerns of healthcare administration is accurate and timely payments while preventing fraud waste and abuse.
We will be presenting our experience and peer-reviewed published research on how a properly designed token can reduce the staggering amount of fraud, waste and abuse we currently endure and bring a level of efficiency and accountability that is very attractive to all stakeholders, regardless of their current views on cryptocurrency. The opportunity truly exists to save literally hundreds of billions of dollars each year in cost and waste.
We also believe our experienced team and advisory board will send a clear message to potential clients of the platform that we are committed and able to deliver the change the current healthcare system needs.
What inspired you to attend it?
Unicom team was professional and very supportive from the very start. They took the time to understand our extensive healthcare background, our vision and focus and encouraged us to attend and the timing was good. We have maintained a deliberate silence in the market so far while working hard to test and prove our model. We now feel ready to share our vision, approach and plans with the Blockchain community and Unicom provided the perfect platform for that.
Which influencers and websites do you follow to keep up to date with the latest developments?
I am an avid reader of the Economist, the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, as well as the number of specialized technologies and crypto-currencies market resources like Blockchain news, Coindesk, Bitcoin magazine, Contelegraph etc. One important way to understand trends and insights is via the social presence of key industry representatives. It is especially great to see top tier of journalism invest time and energy in understanding, analysing and presenting the potential of Blockchain and digital tokens. We are seeing a much needed discourse with journalists and reputable publications about the opportunity and challenges that lie ahead. And we look forward to being an active participant in this dialogue.
How can people find out more about what you are working on?
Transparency can almost be called the underlying religion of Blockchain community and technology. This notion of transparency permeates all discussions and expectations of real-time, verifiable information. We have been deliberately working undercover for a while to make sure our thesis, approach, solution and plans will achieve our mission.
Now that we are ready to engage with the community, we will use all medium that community expects and uses: slack, telegram, blogs, active participation in events and forums etc.
Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?
