Insight’s Girls Hack Ireland bringing tech on tour around Ireland

For the first time ever, the renowned Girls Hack Ireland is hitting the road. First stop is Wexford on the 12th of March, and then Roscommon and Longford on the 19th. The idea is to broaden the Girls Hack reach beyond the major urban centres.

Now in its second year of operation, Girls Hack Ireland, with the support of the Insight Centre for Data Analytics, creates innovative, creative and fun events for teenage girls, that are based on science, technology, engineering and maths. These will be the first of three workshops to be delivered in Wexford, Longford and Roscommon this year.

Girls Hack Ireland aims to help address the gender gap that exists in science, technology, engineering and maths careers.
Teenage girls are welcome to come to these events and try their hands at building and designing their own websites.

The events are absolutely free, all equipment will be provided and no previous experience is required.

Girls under 16 will need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian – and the parents/guardians will have the option of attending a parallel, similarly themed workshop themselves, courtesy of Coding Grace. It’ll be a supportive, relaxed afternoon of learning for both teens and guardians.
