We have been road testing the new NOTE 11 Pro released by Infinix, and aimed at the Generation Z user group. You can see more about the phone on their website here.
This device is aimed at a younger audience, so we let it loose with two users from that age demographic. Out of the box they got it working fast, and even more quickly found the more fun elements of the phone too. They quickly noted, that as well as the usual Android apps that you tend to get on your phone, there is a whole unique ecosystem of XOS 10 software. This was similar enough that, while clearly different, they could navigate their way around these additional apps and start playing with them and working out what cool things could be done.
Very soon our testers found the option within camera to turn themselves into avatars, with a Tiktok friendly video setting to then capture the mini dialogues and performances they were creating. This had an impressive wow and fun factor. Over the next week or so this was a phone they enjoyed returning to and using.
If you are used to a more pocket sized phone then this is not like that, as it is definitely a chunkier, larger device to have in your pocket, or not as the case is. However there are many other phones out there of a similar size, so you will probably either be used to the larger size, or make sure that you factor this in when making your purchase decision.
There are games preinstalled on the device too, nothing something which comes with all devices these days. However, for the audience it is aimed at, this makes complete sense, and again our testers quickly found them and were playing and trialing them very quickly. The verdict was positive, especially as they were ‘free’ with the phone too. These were popular and another element that affirmed that this phone works well with the age group they are aiming for.
Infinix is a company that is new to us, and without a huge brand recognition in Ireland yet, it does seem like a good entry to the market though, and got a definite thumbs up with our testers. One to watch going forwards.
