Industry experts share their key insights with health tech start-ups

As part of Dublin City Council’s Techstars Startup Week Dublin 2019, The Digital Hub and Health Innovation Hub Ireland (TCD) joined forces to bring connected health entrepreneurs and experts from HSE, HPRA, Enterprise Ireland, investment and public health, together for an information sharing evening.

Titled ‘Connected health in Ireland – how we shape it and how we make it’ the event provided a forum for health tech start-ups to hear key insights from individual experts and to meet them in scheduled one-to-one sessions on the night.

Sharing his key insight, Noel Daly from Enterprise Ireland’s High Potential Start-Ups unit said: “Ask for an introduction and be specific about funding required.  Do your market research and be clear on what you are trying to achieve.”

Anne Tobin from the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) reminded delegates when she said: “If developing products for the health sector, determine if they are medical devices and under the scope of the legislative framework and consider regulatory requirements as early as possible.” 

Among the other expert speakers who attended the event at The Digital Hub were investor Julian Seymour, HBAN, Hilary Coates, Bank of Ireland Start Ups, Miriam Roche, St James Informatics Directorate, Séan Bresnan, HSE procurement and Eimear Galvin, Health Innovation Hub Ireland, an expert in Clinical Access.
