Ice Water Group and ERG going from strength to strength

Irish-owned Ice Water Group and Ireland’s leading provider of premium filtered water and part of the Euro Refrigeration Group (ERG), has been named ‘Best Green Non-Alcoholic Beverage Manufacturer’ at the inaugural Green Food and Beverage Producer Awards this month. The company was successful ahead of other nominees, including the global Coca-Cola brand.

Ice Water Group and ERG: Second-time collaboration

The award marks the second time that Ice Water and ERG Group have been recognised for their contribution to waste reduction and climate change after winning the “Sustainable Water Achievement Award” at the National Green Awards earlier this year.

Peter Wynne, CEO of Ice Water Group and ERG said: “Next year we celebrate thirty years in business, and I am very proud of the role we are playing in the challenges arising from climate change.

Our product range has been designed with the environment in mind, we have taken a decision in recent years to only produce and sell a product range that is compatible with a cleaner environment. It is a real honour to have our work recognised by our peers and I am proud of what our team has achieved.”

Ice Water and ERG through its Euro Water Solutions company have saved tens of millions of plastic bottles being used each year with the installation of its filtered water systems in both the domestic and commercial markets.

Peter Wynne added: “Hopefully when the current pandemic is over, and people are safe again world leaders will devote energy and funding to address the issue of climate change.

The pandemic has shown us what can be achieved when countries work together, let us hope this energy is positively used to help and protect our planet for future generations.”

The Green Food and Beverage Producer Awards highlight various initiatives that producers in Ireland are taking to make food production as sustainable as possible, so as to protect the environment and inspire future generations to do the same.

The event was streamed online on 5th November and hosted by writer and broadcaster Richard Curran. It is an event that not only aims to entertain but to inform those in attendance of the brilliant efforts being made by companies to become more environmentally aware.
