How to achieve the right Digital Transformation for your company. Aisling Curtis, Microsoft Ireland, speaking June 8th at DLR Summit

By @SimonCocking. Great interview with Aisling Curtis from Microsoft Ireland will be speaking at the upcoming Digital Transformation Conference, at the Pavilion Theatre, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin taking place on 8th June 2017 (see here more info and for tickets).

1 min pitch for what you are doing now?

I’m the Commercial Director in Microsoft Ireland. My remit covers Small, Medium, Corporate and the Partners. I am a member of the Subsidiary leadership team in Microsoft Ireland, on the IMI Council and part of the 30% Club. My main focus currently is ensuring we create the right environment for customers, partners and teams to be successful and to help them digitally transform.

How were the last 12 months, what worked well, what didn’t move as quickly as you would have liked?

The uptake and readiness of companies to digitally transform is something that needs to move more quickly. Recent research we commissioned shows that 50% of Irish organisations believe that digital disruption will impact them within two years, with 48% concerned about competitors getting ahead of them digitally. The research showed that many organisations don’t fully understand digital transformation and this is one of the main barriers to them moving forward. My ambition over the coming year is keep this conversation going, making more people aware of the need for digital transformation and support people and organisations generally on this journey.

What are your plans for the future?

Maximising digital transformation opportunities for our customers and partners. With the research we commissioned recently showing that 80% of Irish organisations overestimating their digital readiness I see the role of my team as helping with this. We also found that just 51% of organisations surveyed had a clear digital transformation strategy we will also focus on helping these organisations become digitally ready.

What will you be talking about at this event?

Digital Transformation and how to help companies digitally transform successfully! I will be sharing more of the findings of our recent Amarach Research on this topic, and on key areas for organisations to think about when considering Digital Transformation such as how to engage your customers, empower your employees and optimise operations. I’m looking forward to going into this in more detail.

What inspired you to attend it?

I think it’s important for companies to come together and share their knowledge. If we’re all to move in the right direction we need to learn from each other and share experiences.

Which influencers and websites do you follow to keep up to date with the latest developments?
