How Secure is Your Computer Network

How Secure is Your Computer  Network ?

By Chris Usatenko

Do you feel confident that your computer is secure? Have you done everything that you can to keep it that way? Epsilon felt the same way. Until they lost $4 billion dollars in a hack, that is. Now, granted, Epsilon had a big juicy target on its back.

Your business might not seem to offer anywhere near the same amount of information. But that doesn’t mean it’s not a target as well. In fact, hackers are counting on you, believing that it isn’t. What they don’t want you to realize is that your business might present a soft target.

Think about it this way – what would happen if you got to work tomorrow and couldn’t access your computer? What if your whole network was compromised and a hacker was demanding $500 to restore your access? You’d be fuming, but it would be a small price to pay to allow you to get back to work.

And, while it’s the big multi-million-dollar hacks that make the headlines, it’s these smaller ones that are the typical hacker’s bread and butter. Why? Those large corporations have equally large security budgets. They spend money on top anti-virus systems, security awareness training for their staff, and complex authentication systems for logins.
Hacking those takes some serious work. On the other hand, all they need for your system if for one employee to click on the wrong link or download the wrong program. They can easily automate their hacks this way.
So, the question becomes, what can you do about it? Start by checking out the infographic below. You’ll find simple ways to secure your system today.
