Quick catch up with Cathrine Shingirai Chivhima who will be attending the Smart Africa event in Rwanda this month.

1 min pitch for what you are doing now?

We were working tirelessly to launch our first commercialized EOS blockchain ICO- ZIPCO token in Canada in the remittance space- our solution will provide the low remit fee to the emerging markets of Africa and beyond and providing P2P transfers between our customers at no cost. Our platform went live on March 24, 2019 and we were able to register a number of investors in the first week of launching our product. On the flip side, the business require more money to continue, to support the expansion and platform.

The last few weeks been crazy busy with lots of sleepless nights and activities stretching from product deployment brand ambassador, 24 X7 customer support, talent acquisition, press coverages, social media marketing campaigns, roadshows and partnership engagements.

What does the ZipCoin Remit Project aim to do?

How was the last year, what worked well, what didn’t move as quickly as you would have liked?

Last year was extremely busy for us- being a newbie in the blockchain
space wasn’t easy. With limited resources and long working hours; thank god to our serving grace we were able to incorporate our company, created our so needed technical documentation, crafted business plan strategies, and met amazing advisors- a big shout out to Miller Thomson LLC- our legal advisors, Sean Monaghan the DNA and mastermind of finance. And our trusted Finance advisor and Tawanda Tore our Compliance Officer- our KYC at heart. Acquiring talent and the right people
who aligns with our company’s vision and mission is a challenge, and still is, however we have made a lot of progress. Remittance money is not a luxury anymore, but a necessity and our goal is to ensure low cost remittance so our customers can send more to their family. Cost Matters- it’s your money and we want you to keep more of it!

What are your plans for the future?

Expansion and Growth within ZIPCOIN REMIT brand of products. We desire
to be present in each country in Africa first and then beyond. Why Africa? Based on our research Africa is the poorest continent on earth yet folks pay the highest cost in remittance . Its heart breaking and exhausting. ZipCoin Remit is built to change
this craziness and is the light in the tunnel for many immigrants and migrant workers in North America, UK, Europe and South Africa. Our product is proudly made my an African- Kim Chivhima- CEO and President of ZIPCOIN REMIT LTD. for solving the Africa remittance pricing issues, lack of financial inclusion, providing education and awareness on cutting edge and innovative technologies. We are wrapping up our remittance development application and our mobile app -ZIPCOremit. I immediately understood the positive social and economic value of bitcoin when I first heard about it in 2014 and have witnessed the world my family had built
over so many generations just vanish because folks couldn’t take the money out of the bank in Zimbabwe fast enough so it ended up becoming worthless.” Boosting Digitalization in Africa and beyond only makes sense to me. This is the future; there is no way out. ?
