Host in Ireland: First ever virtual ‘Global Data’ event

Host in Ireland are holding an online virtual ‘Global Data’ event that will be taking place on Thursday 3rd December from 3-4 pm. I spoke with one of the events coordinators about its aims and objectives.

Host in Ireland: ‘Global Data’ and how it is evolving

Firstly we discussed the event’s inspirations, and what attendees can get excited to experience: “Words matter more than ever and timely, accurate, and fact-checked commentary on the role data plays in our work, play and rest is more important now than ever before.

Data, data devices, and  Data Centres have all had a huge impact on our lives and none more so than in this upending year thanks to a pandemic and global lockdowns.

The way we live, work, and play has changed – possibly forever. We’ll be reflecting on data and technology, where we’ve been, and where we are likely to go”.

We continued by talking  about the opportunities available for attendees and who will be guest speaking at the event:

“A global perspective on data trends and their impact on technology worldwide. Our moderator will be Dr. Julie Albright, a digital sociologist renowned for being a thought leader on the growing intersection of society, behavior, and technology.

Joining Dr. Albright will be Garry Connolly, founder of Host in Ireland; Buddy Rizer, executive director of economic development for Loudon County, Virginia; and Omer Wilson, head of marketing APAC at Digital Realty”.

Before we finished, the spokesperson gave some advice for attendees before speaking about the events overall mission:

Get your questions answered. There will be lots of opportunities to put your questions to these global thought leaders.

The event has brought together representatives from APAC, EU, and the US to discuss global opportunities and challenges presented by the continued digitisation of the planet and will provide delegates with not just information of the ‘what’ associated with data but also the ‘why’ and ‘what next’.

Tickets are free, but there are a limited number of seats available. To ensure you receive your tickets before the event commences you can register now and receive more information about the event here->
