I love Twitter for many reasons, one of them is that it is an excellent breaking news source. These days news breaks faster on Twitter than it does on a mainstream news channel. Hash is a new app that puts the news at your fingertips without making you sift through hashtags or everything else.

When you open the app or visit the website you will see the top trending stories for today’s news from all over the globe. Select a story to see an article excerpt explaining the topic and showing some relevant tweets.

If you want to add to the discussion simply click on reply or retweet as you would do in Twitter. You can go to Twitter to follow the discussion directly. Hash basically provides an overview of the days popular news related hashtags to give you a starting point instead of trying to find them all for yourself.

One of the appealing things for some people is the fact that you don’t need a Twitter account to use the website or the app. So if you want to get in on the breaking news around the world from Twitter but you don’t want to sign up for a Twitter account it is now possible to do so.
