Hardware Accelerator Highway1 Opens Application Process for its Eighth Class

Highway1, PCH’s global hardware accelerator located in San Francisco, will begin accepting applications for its eighth class on October 25, 2016. Launched in 2013, Highway1 is open to international applicants, and to date has accepted startups from 12 countries, including Ireland, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Estonia. Irish companies that have participated previously include connected kitchen scale company Drop, and Ayda, the company that developed a connected fertility tracker for women.

Highway1 is looking for great startups from around the world for the programme’s next class, set to start in early 2017. Highway1 offers successful applicants:

? Investment – Up to $100,000 for 8% equity or $50,000 for 5%.

? Engineering – Onsite support from electrical, mechanical, firmware and manufacturing engineers.

? Focused mentoring at Highway1’s 10,000 square foot dedicated office space in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill.

? Prototyping – 24/7 access to state-of-the-art prototyping labs.

? Industrial design – Introductions to the best industrial design studios.

? Manufacturing – A trip to Shenzhen, China and introduction to local resources.

? Network of alumni, mentors and partners.

? Fundraising – Introductions to key investors.

Seventy-four startups have been through the Highway1 programme to date. The alumni have raised more than $115 million in combined venture and crowd funding, including Cue, Drop, Molekule, Navdy, Podo and Ringly.
