Guaranteed Irish shines a spotlight on Ireland’s Pharma Sector

Throughout October, Guaranteed Irish will showcase contributions made by the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors to the Irish economy as part of ‘Pharma Month’.

Guaranteed Irish is a business membership organisation with over 300 members nationwide, including leading pharmaceutical and healthcare organisations such as: MSD, AbbVie, BD, Hollister, Ipsen, Forest Tosara (Teva Pharmaceuticals), PPL Biomechanics, KCI Medical Ireland, Nutricia Ireland.

As part of the month-long initiative, Guaranteed Irish will be shining a spotlight on each of their pharmaceutical and healthcare members, highlighting the medical innovations that they have discovered and the career opportunities that lie in this sector.

Speaking at the launch of Pharma Month, Brid O’Connell, CEO of Guaranteed Irish, said: “Ireland is now home to all 10 of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies in the world. We are the largest net exporter of pharmaceuticals in the European Union, and globally we rank seventh in terms of our overall exports.

“At Guaranteed Irish, we felt it was time to champion these companies that have invested in Ireland since the 1960s, by marking October as ‘Pharma Month’. It is because of their commitment to jobs and communities right across Ireland, and in particular, rural Ireland, that we have been able to build such a strong track record in this sector.”

To mark ‘Pharma Month’ Guaranteed Irish will sponsor the ‘Corporate Social Responsibility Programme of the Year’ award at the Pharma Industry Awards 2017 on Thursday, 5th October 2017. The winning company will be profiled on the Guaranteed Irish website.

“Not only are these organisations global leaders in their medical innovations, patient care and research and development, but they have also paved the way in terms of corporate social responsibility.

“Corporate Social Responsibility is one of the key criteria for membership of Guaranteed Irish. As such, it is with great pleasure that Guaranteed Irish is sponsoring the ‘Corporate Social Responsibility Programme of the Year’ award at the Pharma Industry Awards, later this month.” concluded Brid O’Connell.
