Google has taken the wraps off the Nexus 6 this evening and true to its name, the device comes with a 6″ screen. While not entirely expected, the 6″ phablet looks set to fit in along side the Nexus 5 in the range, rather than replacing it.
Manufactured by Motorola, the phone borrows more than a few design cues from the 2014 Moto X but also packs some of the latest specs which include:
- 1440 x 2560 2K screen
- 3GB RAM
- 32/ 64GB storage options
- Turbo Charge function which adds 6 hours life from 15 mins charge
- Android 5.0 Lollipop
- 13MP Camera
- 2.7Ghz Snapdragon 805 processor
- 3220mAh Battery
The phone will come in a choice of Cloud White and Midnight Blue. Pricing for Ireland and an exact release date hasn’t been confirmed yet but it is looking like being the most expensive Nexus device yet. Priced at $649, you can bet the Euro price will be very similar when it arrives. Pre-orders start in the States on October 29 with a full launch planned for November. We’ll update as we hear more.
