Global software company LiveTiles is hiring for attitude as well as aptitude

National Recruitment company Collins McNicholas is actively recruiting up to 50 jobs for global software company LiveTiles to support the further development of its design and artificial intelligence (AI) products.

Earlier last month, global software company LiveTiles announced it is establishing an Intelligent Innovation Centre in the North West of Ireland and Collins McNicholas has launched a national recruitment campaign for the jobs, which will be based in Sligo.

LiveTiles is headquartered in New York and specialises in providing technology solutions to small and large businesses around the world. It has offices in Australia, the UK as well as on the East and West coasts of the US and now, it is establishing an AI R&D center in Sligo.

Some of the roles being sought include software and AI developers, marketing, management, business analysts and members for a new product solutions team that will create industry-specific digital platforms that incorporate AI. “The expansion of LiveTiles into the North West is impressive news for the region and highlights both the potential and the opportunities in the area. There is a range of jobs available right now in the new Sligo centre from solutions architects, software developers to back end web developers and a senior marketing manager.”

Elaine Murphy, Ireland’s General Manager of LiveTiles, said the company was willing to hire for attitude as well as aptitude.

“While we are looking for a lot of software developers, we need people with strong communication skills who are able to talk to our customers. We are definitely interested in hearing from people who might not have the exact skills in the job spec but who might impress us in other ways. While we are looking for people who have technical skills, we also need people with softer skills too,” says Elaine, who is joining LiveTiles from games manufacturer EA, where she was Site Lead for Galway and in charge of their Customer Experience Centre in Austin, Texas.

LiveTiles is in a hyper-growth stage globally and, in Sligo, 14 people are expected to be hired within the next eight to ten weeks with the remainder over the coming months. LiveTiles will initially be based at the Innovation Centre at IT Sligo but is currently looking at town centre locations for the company.

Elaine said the work/life balance benefits of working in the North West would be a massive pull for those looking to join LiveTiles. Since joining the company, her lifestyle has changed dramatically. She has gone from commuting four hours a day to reinvesting that time into her family and friends.

“I am a different person within a couple of weeks. I am spending a lot of time with my son – just doing the basics I missed before, like making his lunch and bringing him to school. I forgot his schoolbag the first week, which just shows you how out of practice I was!

“I am really passionate about the North West and bringing businesses here. There is a huge altruistic side to LiveTiles and the founders really liked the collaborative spirit and positive attitude of the people in Sligo. They enjoyed the craic here and the lifestyle.
