In February 21st, blockchain and cryptocurrency enthusiasts from around the world met in south-western Switzerland for a Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference on various subjects related to decentralized start-ups, cryptocurrencies and ICO investments. The conference took place in the city of Geneva. This event was organized by Smile Expo and hosted by Grand Hotel Kempinski. The conference is a part of a series of international conferences. Participants had the pleasure to listen to 16 talks and look at 12 presentations in the exhibition area. The conference gathered the brightest experts of the industry, well-known specialists, and gurus of the crypto market, developers, entrepreneurs, representatives of payment systems, and lawyers who shared their way of thinking concerning blockchain technology development across the globe. An interesting innovation of this conference was the possibility to participate via specialised conferencing software and real-time language translation. This made it possible for non English speaking audience to listen and understand the discussions.
The conference took place in 3 spacious rooms. The main room was the place where all the discussions, panels and talks took place. The other room was where sponsors were presenting their projects to the audience. The third room was the cocktail room where most of networking went on. The atmosphere was very friendly and predisposing for networking and sharing ideas with other crypto enthusiasts. Live contact with the people behind the projects is always way more interesting, because they really get the opportunity to explain their projects in details.
We definitely think that it was a well organized conference and the panel discussions were great, in particular we liked a lot the panel about the crypto regulations in Europe. Jan Sammut’s speech about the way an ICO should be run was also well worth listening to. Some of the other speeches we liked were on topics like: Crypto market analysis, business solutions within FinTech achievements, Blockchain and Bitcoin prospects, cutting-edge technologies and technical aspects of working with the smart technology, Bitcoin mining and exchange.
After the conference was over there was an after-party for the biggest enthusiasts which was organized via a telegram group. The event took place at a nice bar at Geneva’s city center.
Overall the participants were happy with the way event way, same goes for us as well as we went back home having learned quite a lot and we also made some new friendships.
