Galway Games Gathering, GMIT, 16 and 17 Sept, 2017

By @SimonCocking

When is it on?

Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September 2017 (this weekend)

How many years has it been going?

This is the inaugural GMIT hosted event.

What was the inspiration to start it? There is an incredibly vibrant game dev community in Galway and as a group it is something that we have been talking about for a while now
What exciting things can people look forward to for the 2017 version? We have an amazing list of speakers lined up for the talks, including John Romero creator of Doom, Brett Douville, lead programmer on Skyrim and Fallout 4, and Eimear Noone, world famous conductor and composer that has done entire album for the likes of World of Warcraft, along with great speaker from Xbox, Sony and Unity to name but a few.
We will also be exhibiting around 20 indie games that have been developed by Irish developers.

What opportunities are on offer for people attending?

The Gathering is a great chance for people to get priceless advice for top games industry professionals and it is a great way to develop contact in the industry and press.

How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?

Ticket are still available on the website www.GalwayGamesGathering.com
