FutureScope – building knowledge, building network

FutureScope, which is taking place in the Convention Centre Dublin on Thursday 31st May, is a must-attend event for anybody interested in building their knowledge of emerging tech, exploring collaboration opportunities within the technology and start-up ecosystems, or expanding their business network.

At FutureScope, 100+ speakers and panellists from Ireland’s hottest scale-ups and most innovative companies, along with 1200 attendees, will explore the implications and opportunities arising from the latest developments in IoT, AR/ VR, artificial intelligence and data analytics. The will examine how technology is transforming industries, from health to sports, from media to agriculture.

The event, which is in its fifth year, attracts a mix of ambitious start-up and scale-up companies, tech multinationals, investors and those from the research and development community, including Google, NewsWhip, Esri, RecommenderX, Microsoft, Epic Games, Facebook, Smart Dublin, Vodafone, Insights Centre, Davra Networks, European Space Agency, Daqri, and many more.

The format at this year’s event involves:

– Four Stages – ‘Insights’, ‘Collaboration’, ‘Innovation’ and ‘Entrepreneurship’

– A dedicated ‘Creativity Meets Technology’ track

– Eight deep dive breakout sessions

– Innovation showcase and an AR/VR demo area

What’s on at FutureScope

On the Insights Stage, FutureScope attendees will hear perspectives from global players, including the World Economic Forum and European Space Agency, on emerging technologies and how they shape our future world, providing crucial insights for ambitious businesses, at all stages of the innovation lifecycle.

Collaboration is a key theme of the event and FutureScope is Ireland’s only tech event dedicated to facilitating collaboration opportunities between start-ups, multinational companies, Irish enterprise and the research community. The Collaboration Stage will look at Dublin as a smart city and how it is becoming a world-class testbed for cutting-edge technologies, as well as a dynamic talent hub. Exciting collaboration projects will be highlighted and attendees will hear how collaborative partnerships enable growth.

The Innovation Stage will take a deep dive into tech, including how AR/VR, artificial intelligence, big data and IoT are impacting industry as new ways to apply them emerge, addressing issues from personalised medicine and predictive analytics to the future of work and cybersecurity across a range of sectors.

The pertinent issues, including attracting investment, scaling internationally and getting the right talent on board will be covered on the Entrepreneurship Stage, which will also highlight some of Ireland’s notable entrepreneurial success stories and hear perspectives from investors.

The FutureScope One2Watch finalists; BeSpoke Choice, Buymedia, Electrical Analytics and CroiValve, will battle it out for the title of most scalable business in Ireland. Judges include Joe Healy, Enterprise Ireland; Alison Cowzer, Dragons’ Den; PJ Dwyer, HBAN Angel Investor, Mary McSweeney, Local Enterprise Office and Alan Merriman, Elkstone Venture Capital.

The interactive, deep-dive breakout sessions will focus on a range of topics from space to cybersecurity.  Running all day will be a ‘Creativity Meets Technology’ track, involving the biggest names in the animation industry and an AR/VR demo area.
