When is it on?
24th to 25th May in the Citywest Convention Centre
How many years has it been going?
This will be the 14th year of the convention, formally known as the National Healthcare Conference.
What was the inspiration to start it?
The reason behind the Future Health Summit stemmed from the directors David Neville and Marc Butterly’s experience bringing people together in the tech sector and the noticeable lack of any conversation between all stakeholders in healthcare not just here in Ireland but globally.
Background
David Neville was co-founder of the influential First Tuesday network in Ireland ‘where minds meet money’. With the extensive network built and the ability to bring people together, they were approached by stakeholders in the healthcare sector to help to replicate the success of First Tuesday. This evolved into the National Healthcare Conference where they brought together all strands of the health sector to share innovations and ideas. What started as a national conference has now become a global gathering of healthcare leaders at the Future Health Summit.
What exciting things can people look forward to for the 2017 version?
The Future Health Summit has always encouraged communication and conversation across sectors whether they are public or private health care providers or the policy makers themselves. With the recent developments of Brexit and Trump, the national health care of countries must be discussed without borders. There will also be patient workshops & clinics, world renowned speakers and startup innovation awards .
What opportunities are on offer for people / startups / investors and companies attending?
For startups, access to the international medical and healthcare venture capital companies attending such as as Tom Thornton head of investment ventures for Northwell health, the largest employer in New York state worth $19bn.
For doctors in radiology access to international leaders in stereotactic radiology.
And there will be thought leaders in the following summits over the two days:
