Free iBeacon Evaluation Package Launched

Belfast-based technology company RF Proximity Ltd today launched ‘myBeacon CMS’, part of a suite of new products that gives retailers, marketing agencies and App developers the opportunity to test custom-branded deployments of Apple’s iBeacon technology for free.

In December 2013 RF Proximity Ltd launched one of the first non-retail iBeacon-based products – a car parking application called “You Parked Here”. The company is currently working with a number of major clients on other applications for the technology in the retail, transport, tourism and security sectors.

Commenting on the “myBeacon CMS” launch company director Darren Fenton said:

iBeacon technology offers great potential but until now it has been quite expensive to develop new applications. Other manufacturers offer packages that require you to buy their iBeacons but we decided to offer a solution that will work with any make of approved iBeacon, including iBeacon Transmission Apps.”

“Offering a free trial of a fully customizable product gives everyone the opportunity to try this exciting technology at minimal cost.”

“We hope our product will lead to the development of many new applications for iBeacon technology.”
