InterTradeIreland, in partnership with The Local Government Management Agency (LGMA), is delivering the first-ever Supplier Engagement event in the greater Dublin area.
With responsibility for housing, planning, roads, environmental protection and recreation facilities, councils have a vast array of procurement opportunities coming up over the next 18-24 months.
Taking place on Tuesday 1st October 2019 at CityWest Hotel & Conference Centre, SMEs across the island of Ireland are being encouraged to come along to this unique event to engage with the budget holders, engineers, emergency services and decision-makers not only to find out about the opportunities but also share any new innovative ideas or technologies.
Grant Gilmore, InterTradeIreland Tendering Manager said: “This event gives SMEs access to staff who commission and procure goods and services on behalf of the local authorities. SMEs will learn about the benefits of bidding for public sector contracts, through one-to-one meetings with the key personnel from the representative councils. As well as engaging directly with key staff, there will be a series of information sessions on related topics such as ‘Consortia Development’ and ‘Brexit Planning’, as well as ‘Getting Ready for Green Procurement’ and the new ‘National Building Control Regulation Unit’.
“Businesses are encouraged to attend and make the most of this opportunity to better equip themselves to successfully pitch for local government business in the future.”
