The deadline for entries for the Ireland Chapter of Project Management Institute’s (PMI) inaugural National Project Awards has been extended to this Friday, September 8 at 5pm.
The awards will be held at the Dublin offices of sponsor PwC on November 1, the eve of International Project Management Day 2017.
The awards will recognise and honour individuals, project teams and organisations that have shone within the project management discipline. For more see projectawards.ie.
Ireland Chapter of PMI President Niall Murphy outlined: “Skilled project managers and teams are invaluable to the economy and we want to highlight this with the National Project Awards. We firmly believe that great work, great people, and great organisations deserve recognition.
“We are encouraging those working in the discipline to come forward and share their successes.”
There are six categories open for public nominations: PMO of the Year (sponsored by Aspira), Public Sector Project of the Year (sponsored by the Institute of Public Administration) and Project Management for Social Good (sponsored by AIB). There is also Project Professional of the Year (sponsored by PwC), SME Project of the Year and Private Sector (non-SME) Project of the Year.
The awards will also include the Distinguished Contribution to Project Management, sponsored by the Ireland Chapter of PMI.
The deadline for all nominations is September 8 at 5pm and the finalists will be announced October 6.
Membership of the Ireland Chapter of PMI has grown by 22% in the past 12 months, to over 1,250 members. There are currently over 50,000 employed in project management across Ireland, in sectors such as IT, public sector, construction, pharmaceuticals, professional services, financial services and manufacturing.
