Eclipse Foundation and CONTACT Software launch IoT Contest 2018

The Eclipse Foundation’s Open IoT Challenge 2018 is inviting developers and interested parties from all over the world to submit their projects by 7 December.

As in the previous years, CONTACT will sponsor the event and be part of the jury. Until December 7th, 2018, interested parties have time to submit their ideas about the Internet of Things. The 10 most innovative applicants will receive a starter kit and technical support for the implementation of their IoT solutions.

The main criteria for the evaluation of the individual projects is their practical applicability to specific branches of industry such as Smart Cities, Industry 4.0 or Remote Health as well as the completeness of the solution. Before the end of 2018, the Eclipse committee will announce their Top 10. The selected participants will then have until mid-March 2019 to implement their IoT projects.

“Open source technologies play an important role in the development of IoT solutions. It is a challenging task to enable the communication of different “things” where the availability of open source software, interfaces and protocols helps to meet reliability and time-to-market requirements.”, says Dr. Nicole Drechsler, IoT expert at CONTACT Software and jury member of the competition.

Interested parties will find all further information here and can register directly for the competition.
