Dublin Tech Summit Women in Tech Awards Now Open for Nominations

The Inaugural Awards Ceremony will take place at the RDS Concert Hall, November 22nd 2018

As we strive to bridge equality gaps, there are still several industries where one gender is far more prevalent than another in the workplace with STEM industries being famously imbalanced. However, while women are currently the minority in terms of numbers within this industry, they are certainly not in the minority in terms of skills and achievements.  

Dublin Tech Summit has grown massively since it’s launch in 2017. As Europe’s fastest growing tech conference, we have seen this event bring innovation and diversity to the forefront of the Irish tech world. DTS18 saw the Women in Tech Programme drive gender equality in what is a historically male-dominated industry.

After the success of this programme, DTS is proud to announce that we achieved a 48% female attendee rate and in doing so, endeavour to encourage gender equality, inspire younger generations, and affect much needed change. It is with this in mind that DTS are now proudly launching the Women in Tech Awards.

Held in the RDS Concert Hall on Thursday 22nd November 2018, Dublin’s inaugural Women in Tech Awards will be an evening where these extraordinary women and their accomplishments will be recognised, and workplace diversity will be celebrated.

There will be 12 categories including awards for Trailblazer, Disruptor, IT Business Leader and Data Scientist, as this event aims to shine a light on those who have made a significant difference within the industry and recognise the triumphs that companies and individuals have made in technology.

The winners will be determined by an international judging panel including:

• Anne Ravanona, founder & CEO of Global Invest Her
• Katia Lang, founder & CEO of the Fintech Times
• Philip Konopik, Ireland Country Manager of Visa
• Jules Coleman, Co-founder of Hassle
• Gen Ashley, Director of Women Who Code, London
• Joe Healy, Manager of High-Potential Startup Division, Enterprise Ireland

In addition to the ceremony, the night will also host a selection of the worlds thought-leaders coming together for a panel discussion on Diversity, so there is no shortage of exciting news to be revealed over the coming months.
