Dublin Tech Summit 2020- An enlightening virtual experience

Dublin Tech Summit has announced it will take place virtually.

The conference, which is in its fourth year, was originally scheduled to take place as a physical event in April.

Due to the ever-changing nature of COVID-19, organisers have had to employ a new 3D solution, enabling eager tech fans to experience the event on the 14th of October 2020.

I spoke with Clodagh Moriarty, one of the events organisers, about the event and the necessary information people need to know.

Firstly we spoke about what people can expect from the summit:

“Attendees, startups, and investors can experience the conference from the comfort and safety of their own homes, hear from speakers in virtual auditoriums, browse exhibition halls, drop by the information booth complete with virtual helpers and make new connections in the state of the art networking lounge. Insightful speaker sessions will be both live and pre-recorded. Themes this year include sustainability, diversity in tech, emerging tech, and future tech among others”.

Dublin Tech Summit 2020- Opportunities

She went into detail about the opportunities available for attendees:

“Dublin Tech Virtual Summit aims to foster stronger cooperation across ecosystems, connect tech communities, and develop long-lasting partnerships that will drive innovation and entrepreneurship for all who attend. Attendees can engage with exhibitors and speakers through a unique text chat system and network with other c-suite individuals through the networking lounge”.

She then spoke of the various speakers who will be in attendance, all from different backgrounds and areas of expertise.

“Firstly there is Harry D. Moseley, Global CIO of Zoom. Then there is Fig O’Reilly, Director & North American Regional Lead, NASA. After that, there is Cormac Whelan, CEO UK & Ireland of Nokia. Followed by David Siegel, CEO of Meetup. Last but certainly not least,  Julie Larson Green, CXO of Qualtrics will also be speaking at the event”.

Dublin Tech Summit 2020: Making the most of it

We moved on to discuss how attendees can make the most out of their time in terms of attending the web summit:

“Make use of all the virtual auditoriums, browse the exhibition halls, and drop by the information booth where virtual helpers will be present for any questions and queries you may have”.

Before we concluded, Clodagh emphasised the objective of the web summit, whilst also elaborating on key factors to consider:

“Dublin Tech Virtual aims to gather the most influential minds in tech and business from across the globe. For one day only, tech leaders from over 70 countries will come together to share the latest knowledge, debate cutting trends, and network virtually. DTS Virtual will be held on the 14th of October 2020. Tickets will provide attendees with access to the virtual auditorium, exhibition hall, information booth, and the state of the art networking lounge. More than 5,000 attendees are expected to attend this year’s virtual event which will feature 50 high profile speakers and 200 global media representatives”.
