It’s official Bitcoin was born in Crimea… well sort of.

A couple from Simferopol in Crimea have named their newborn son Bitcoin – in honour of the world’s most valuable crypto currency.

Oleg’s father explained that bitcoin is responsible for his financial security and therefore wanted to pay homage and express “gratitude to cryptocurrency.”

Oleg has more names planned for future children, If the couple have a daughter, then she will be called Dasha – in honour of the crypto currency Dash and if a second son is born Oleg plans to call Satoshi, in homage to Satoshi Nakamoto the alias of the secretive creator of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin Olegovich was born weighing three kilograms and is in full health.

Congratulations to Oleg on the birth of his son and let’s hope before young Bitcoin is of school age that his class mates parents haven’t lost their life savings because Bitcoin’s value had collapsed, or his son may not be very popular!
