Cork Women in Leadership event announce keynote speaker

Network Ireland Cork Branch and Cork Chamber of Commerce will once again join forces for the annual Women in Leadership Executive Lunch which will take place in Clayton Hotel, Cork on Friday, 12 October from 12pm – 3pm.

Following last year’s successful sell-out event, Brid Horan, co-founder of the 30% Club Ireland and former Deputy CEO of ESB has been announced as the keynote speaker for the event. Brid is also current Co-Chair of the recently launched Government initiative Better Balance for Better Business.

Speaking about the upcoming event, Karen Fleming, President of Network Ireland Cork Branch said: “We are delighted to host this event in conjunction with Cork Chamber for yet another year and to welcome Brid Horan as the guest speaker. It is vitally important that Cork businesses come together to discuss how we can accelerate and achieve gender balance across industries. Improved support for female career development is necessary and we hope that this event will continue to drive the conversation and highlight the benefits of enhanced diversity in the workplace on local, national and international levels.”

Orla Flynn, Honorary Secretary at Cork Chamber of Commerce added: “Better gender balance has a proven impact on better business performance. While Ireland has seen significant improvement in gender equality, women remain seriously underrepresented in senior management and at board level. Within the Chamber we are committed to promoting diversity and inclusion across all levels of business. With this event we hope that more Cork companies will be encouraged to reflect on their own management makeup and set new targets where necessary. “

Places are limited, and tickets are €49 for Network Cork and Cork Chamber Members. Tickets are €59 for Non-Members and bookings can be made online on Eventbrite.ie. Booking for corporate groups are also available and enquiries can be made to info@networkcork.com. L
