CONNECT’s Pervasive Nation to team with Davra Networks and Orbiwise

Leading IoT companies Davra Networks and Orbiwise are to work with the CONNECT Centre at Trinity College Dublin in the countrywide roll out of its Pervasive Nation Internet of Things network.

The Internet of Things provides objects with network connectivity enabling them to collect and share data. It is predicted that there will be more than 20 billion connected devices by 2020 with a global economic impact measured in trillions of dollars.

Orbiwise, the Swiss-based IoT firm, will supply network management software while Irish start-up Davra Networks will provide the application enablement and data management platform.

Pervasive Nation is a new Internet of Things research infrastructure funded by Science Foundation Ireland to facilitate academic research and the testing of pre-commercial ideas by Irish companies. It is based largely on the use of Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) technology.
