Start-ups, SMEs and the country’s biggest business and tech multinationals will go head-to-head in a unique citywide treasure hunt this July in aid of Temple Street Children’s University Hospital.

Techies4TempleStreet, organised by Temple Street, with customer service software company Zendesk as this year’s Leadership Partner, challenges Ireland’s business and tech communities to take part in a fun and challenging team-building and networking event. Participants will trek across Dublin city centre seeking buried treasure, completing a variety of different challenges along the way.

Since the first treasure hunt in 2015, Techies4TempleStreet has raised over €400,000 for Temple Street. These funds have been put to work in the hospital to help sick children and their families, providing life-saving equipment and services.

Commenting, Denise Fitzgerald, CEO at Temple Street Foundation said, “Now in its third year, Techies4TempleStreet has already made a huge difference to Temple Street Children’s Hospital and its patients.

“Over 100 teams participated in 2016, from the worlds of tech, finance, law, media and recruitment, raising €200,000. This year we’re hoping to have over 150 teams from an even more diverse range of companies, big and small.”

Software Entrepreneur Ray Nolan said, “Despite the name, you don’t need to be a techie to participate – all that’s required is enthusiasm, an appetite for fun, teamwork and a desire to seek out Dublin’s biggest treasure troves.

“For smaller companies in particular, the treasure trail is an excellent opportunity to mingle with some of the largest multinationals in the country, including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Zendesk.”

The winning team will be revealed at a post-event party, where they’ll be crowned ‘Ireland’s Smartest Techies’. Cybersecurity company Corvil is the reigning champion, having won both the 2015 and 2016 Techies4TempleStreet treasure trails.

The event will take place on Friday, 7 July at the RDS in Dublin. For full details and to register your team, visit: http://www.techies4templestreet.ie
