When and where is it on?
Date: 29th May 2019 | Time: 10:00-4:00pm | Venue: NDRC, Digital Exchange, Crane Street, Dublin 8
How many years has it been going?
The first Forum took place in 2017, this is the 3rd year that An Cosán Virtual Community College has hosted this event.
What was the inspiration to start it?
The Community Partner Forum is a space for grassroots community organisations and national representative organisations and experts in the field of EdTech and Community Education to gather together to share knowledge, experiences and challenges to enable our network to advocate as a collective voice on the key priorities in the community education sector and to plan action outcomes to address those needs.
Why you should attend?
We invite our Community Partners to join us for a day where you will have the opportunity to:
Learn about how new and innovative ideas that embrace technology-enhanced learning can empower individuals and communities
Engage in stimulating conversations and network with your peers in Community Education
What exciting things can people look forward to?
During the event, An Cosán VCC will showcase a prototype of a digital skills assessment tool which will help people understand their current digital competencies as well as reflect on and identify their perceptions about their digital skills and offer a pathway to achieving basic digital competency based on the European Digital Competence Framework (DigComp).
What opportunities are on offer for those attending?
Community Partners who are members of Technology Enhanced Community Education Network (TECEN) will be invited to participate in the rollout of continuous professional development training opportunities offered throughout 2019.
The digital skills assessment tool will be tested and trialled over the summer months through An Cosán VCC’s Technology Enhanced Community Education Network (TECEN). Community organisations are invited to participate in this exciting and innovative solution to the digital divide.
Community Partners can meet members of the team to learn about all our programmes. We have just launched two new programmes: the Right to Work Education Programme for International Protection Applicants and a Young Women’s Education Programme for young women who parent alone from Dublin’s Inner City and Tallaght areas. Community organisations who work to support these groups are invited to connect.
