In times of crisis, it is more important than ever to prioritise self-care, mental health and wellbeing. COVID-19 has disrupted the lives of billions across the world and transformed the way we live our lives. With normal routines on hold and an uncertain future ahead, Unilever’s CLEAR commits to arming people with the resilience to not only tackle the challenges we are currently facing but come back stronger.
Resilience is a learned ability to cope with challenges. CLEAR aspires to empower people to show the world what they are made of and believes that resilience is a hugely powerful tool that will enable people to achieve this.
Therefore, together with the Resilience Research Centre (RRC), CLEAR has developed a 14 Day Resilience Challenge to help people stand strong in the face of adversity and feel empowered to move forward with their goals – despite the limitations of today’s reality. Topics include how to reframe negative thoughts into positive ones, how to reinvent routines during the lockdown, how to sustain positive relationships even in a social distancing context and how to be mindful, present and focus on the things that matter most.
The challenge was launched by long-time CLEAR Brand Ambassador, Cristiano Ronaldo, who said, “These are challenging ties. Let’s make sure we stay on top of our game so we can all come back stronger. Be part of the Clear 14 Day Resilience Challenge from May 1st – I know I will.”
The challenge consists of 14 resilience-building exercises designed and led by academics, Dr Michael Ungar, Dr Phillip Jeffries and Silja Litvin from the RRC to address specific needs people have right now. Each topic is co-hosted by a different special guest including CLEAR Ambassadors Marta Vieira da Silva, Brazilian professional football player, and Vietnamese singer, Tóc Tiên, as well as Alan Jope, Unilever CEO, and Buddhist monk, Ajahn Brahm. Users enjoy a short video along with interactive activities that will help them put these skills into practice.
“COVID-19 is changing how many of us live our daily lives. Work and school are disrupted, with friends and extended family being kept at a distance. We are all learning how to do things differently. Stress and worry can build up at times like this, so it is important to maintain your resilience and keep your head high. CLEAR is committed to enabling people to perform at their best, and this is why we have partnered with the Resilience Research Centre to develop a 14-day programme to power up your resilience.” says Tran Tue Tri, Global Vice President of CLEAR Hair Care at Unilever.
The 14 Day Resilience Challenge will kick-off on 1 May on CLEAR’s YouTube channel, with new topics posted daily until 14 May. The challenge is free available to anyone and is in 7 languages.
