Describe the company – the elevator pitch …
What Daisy did are an ethical and sustainable fashion label that creates unique bags in a diverse range of materials, colours and styles.
Where are you based?
We currently craft our bags in both the UK (Northampton) and India (Ajmer). Both places are famed for their traditional leather craft which has given us the opportunity to work with some very skilled tailors.
How are you different?
We believe in a circular economy and our products utilise supply chain waste from a range of industries. We also focus on tackling poverty through the employment of vulnerable people, both in the UK and India.
Why will the company / product do well?
We believe in functional design and quirky aesthetics. Our products are designed to outlive trends and last longer than the average fast fashion piece.
When was the company launched?
We launched in the summer of 2013.
What have been your biggest wins to date?
Last year we launched our latest collection via a successful Kickstarter that gained recognition from a few celebrities. We were also named one of the top 100 small businesses of 2016.
What type of people (market segment) are you trying to attract to your product?
Our products attract a wide range of people from students to older women as our range of products caters for a broad range of people with a lot of styles being unisex.
Tell us about your team?
We are a small close knit team of 4 working in the UK. If you get in touch with us you will likely speak to Sarah who runs the office.
What are you long term plans for your product / company?
We are currently working on a couple of new ranges including waste boot factory leather tote bags and accessories made from waste boat sail material.
What are your favourite tech gadgets?
My favourite tech gadget is probably my iphone as it allows me to work and keep in touch with the business and our customers wherever I am.
