Sisense Simplifying Business Analytics for Complex Data
Describe the company – the elevator pitch …
Sisense is the leading provider of business intelligence software for complex data. Our software is used to easily prepare, analyze and visualize complex datasets, and lets organizations that work with big data coming from many structured and unstructured data sources – databases, cloud applications, flat files, etc. – to drive immediate value from their data, using nothing but our own tool which is very intuitive and easy to use for both analysts and business executives.
How are you different?
“We have two main differentiating factors: (1) While there are many business intelligence tools out there at the moment, we are the only tool that has the technological back-end to provide a complete solution for complex data scenarios. Many organizations that work with big or disparate data will have a patchwork of tools in place – for data warehousing, ETL and data visualization – and still achieve sub-par results in terms of performance and time-to-value, compared to a company that chooses Sisense and has a single business intelligence tool to clean data, analyze it and then create KPI dashboards and reports. (2) Business intelligence is typically considered to be a lengthy, IT-centric process. We slash deployment time to hours or days, and are willing to prove it by offering a free, 90 minute proof of concept (or “Test Drive”) on our prospects’ own data before they decide to make a purchase.”
Why will the company / product do well?
The company is already doing great, having secured contracts with some of the world’s leading companies. We have over 700 customers including eBay, WiX, Samsung, Fiverr, and many others. In 2015 alone, Sisense won the Ventana Innovation Award, Computerworld’s Data+ Editors’ Choice Award and the Frost & Sullivan Customer Value Award. We expect this success to continue because we bring a new, disruptive value proposition to the market, and have the technological ‘muscle’, which we have developed in-house, to back it up.
Where are you based?
Sisense headquarters are in New York, with an R&D center in Israel.
When was the company launched?
The company has been around since 2005, but the first commercial launch was in 2010.
What have been your biggest wins to date?
Seeing our software being adopted by huge enterprises and organizations that have access to any technology or product imaginable, and who nevertheless choose Sisense as their analytics and reporting tool due to their understanding that we really do bring unique value to the table. Hearing back from happy customers telling us how much time, money or both they saved by implementing Sisense.
What type of people (market segment) are you trying to attract to your product?
Our product is meant for organizations of all sizes. Power users would usually be data analysts and data scientists who can truly appreciate the benefits of analyzing data using a single-stack BI tool that is both powerful and agile; it is also very popular with business executives who appreciate the intuitive and user-friendly interface that lets them gain immediate visibility into their data, including the ability to drill down, slice and dice or filter the data to perform their own analysis. Lastly, IT professionals appreciate Sisense because it is that much easier to use and removes a huge part of their traditional workload in terms of data management and preparation.
Tell us about your team?
While our company is growing fast (now over 150 employees), we are still a very young and dynamic team and are keeping the ‘start-up spirit’ of being a place where people actually like coming to work, with a strong sense of togetherness and belief in the product and the mission.
