Describe the company – the elevator pitch …
We are VEAR, a company that helps you to defy Mother Nature. With us, you control your day, your routine, your way of life. With our help, your rainy day isn’t rainy. In the past, you couldn’t plan your daily activities without watching the weather forecast. In future, you don’t waste time on watching it. It’s not about buying our product, it’s about buying your time and freedom.
If we take a look at companies today, their idea was to start it for profit, run it for profit and develop it for profit. Our mindset was never like that and that’s the main difference. We made a concept of Legs Jacket mainly because we were struggling during the harsh weather that constantly ruined our plans in everyday life. Once we realised it is a good idea, we tried to present it to the rest of the world through Kickstarter and guess what, they really liked it.
Why will the company / product do well?
When you have to face a windy day, when you have to face a heavy rain, you need something that will neutralise that factors for you. In a world, with a population of more than seven billion people, there is a big number of them that realise that Legs Jacket is the product that can it in the best possible way. That’s why I don’t have worries if the product will do well. It’s natural.
Where are you based and when was the company launched?
We are based in Aalborg, a city in Denmark, the company was officially incorporate in 2015 when we launched our previous campaign (link here) which failed.
What have been your biggest wins to date, who are you trying to attract to your product?
Our biggest wins to date are that we gathered such a large community of people to support us. Well, the product is aimed at people that live in cities with cycling infrastructure and rain – hence people that commute and work in rain. We have people from all over the world backing us (USA, Canada, Germany, Singapore, Australia) – it’s truly global.
Tell us about your team and what are you long term plans for your product / company?
Our team is small, but there’s a great potential for expansion. Andrei Ursachi is part of the team alongside me. We were here when all of this was just a concept and we want this to be a never-ending partnership. Michelle Roberts from Detroit is our independent technical advisor and experienced Peter Barta is our business advisor. The latest addition to our team is another young man Milos Milenkovic, whose main fields of work will be market research and public relations.
After launching Legs Jacket, our main focus would be to listen. We will listen what our customers and the market have to say, how to improve the product, what extra features to add or maybe what extra product to launch. It’s the main short and long-term objective. That’s the only way we could grow.
What are your favourite tech gadgets any you wish you could use to help you?
Well, I love technology but I don’t own some gadgets besides my iPhone and MacBook. I could say that I’m more of an app addict, primarily of organization apps. If there is an app that organizes organization of organizational apps, I’ll be the first to have it.
I’m not sure. Since my gadgets cover all my needs, I think I’m good for now, but if I see or hear about some new must-have gadget, you’ll be the first to know.
Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?
I would just like to point out eco-friendly side of our product. We are aiming to make the Legs Jacket is 100% recyclable (working on that) that will be delivered in eco-friendly 100% recyclable package box (will be done for sure). We must take care of our environment so to encourage this way of thinking. In that spirit, if someone doesn’t want to use the product anymore, he can send it back to us so we can refurbish it or transform it to something else and receive a 10% discount on his next purchase.
How do people get in touch with you?
If anyone wants to get in touch with me, the best way would be to write on email vn@vear.me . I check it daily.
