By @. The Marketing Office, cost effective marketing, targeting the right people, to achieve the best results.
Describe the company…. Elevator Pitch.
The Marketing Office are a team of marketing experts. Businesses choose us for our broad marketing knowledge, commercial acumen and our productivity. We identify marketing needs and execute plans. Simply put, we get the job done.
How are you different?
Most agencies with a marketing function, focus on a specific area – Strategy, Branding, Planning, Research, PR, Events, Media Buying and more. It’s the role of a Marketing Director to bring all these components together and this is where we come in.
For startups and small business we become their Marketing Director. We help to identify their needs. We direct their efforts and we execute their activity on their behalf. For larger companies, we help to plug a gap in their skill set. We provide support through busy periods and for big campaigns. When their resources are tight, we prop up their team. We’re specialists in a few areas, Digital Marketing, Insights and Analytics, Customer Value Management, Strategic Design and Measurement. We provide expert advice on these topics.

Why will the company/product do well?
We offer our clients value for money, flexibility and continuity. For start ups and small businesses we offer more experience and expertise than a full time employee, and we cost less than their salary. We provide clients the level of support that’s required and we grow our service as their needs grow. We support them on their journey for as long as they need us to.
Larger organisations find that we cost less than a contractor and provide a greater wealth of resource and knowledge. When interim support is required, we eliminate the need for a recruitment process. We’re always available to start straight away. We provide the back up they need to get the job done.
Where are you based?
We’re based in Dublin but are also actively seeking clients in London (and other parts of UK). Our team is experienced marketing locally and internationally.
When was the company launched?
The company officially launched July 1st 2016 (we’ve been working part-time for the last 6 months but we quit our day jobs in June to go full time from July).

What have been your biggest wins to date?
Tesco Mobile, Citroen, SaleAgreed.ie
a) Tesco Mobile required support to combat new market entrants, and to build product roadmap that would continue to grow market share. We led a project that devised the propositions they needed, and a roadmap of product launches that would keep them as Ireland’s largest MVNO.
b) For Citroen we managed a 6 month pitch process to help find the right creative and media buying agencies to deliver their multi-million euro marketing strategy.
c) SaleAgreed.ie is a new website/app for new homeowners. It’s still in conception stage, but we’ve been brought on to help commercialise the business and lead it’s front end content and marketing efforts.
What type of people (market segment) are you trying to attract to your product?
Any business that requires marketing support. Our team’s background covers telecommunications, digital technologies, the tourism and hospitality industry, FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) and financial services. This is where we’ve learned our trade. But any company with a product or service that is prepared to invest money in marketing, should be following the fundamental principles of marketing. This is where we can add our value.
Tell us about your team?
Joseph Walsh and Helen McNamara are our two full time staff to begin with.
Joseph Walsh has over 12 years experience in Telecommunications and Digital Technologies, with a proven track record in launching consumer products to the mass market and implementing strategies designed to maximise customer value. Joseph’s work was recently shortlisted for a Customer Experience Award in the UK, having improved customer satisfaction scores while simultaneously driving incremental revenue for his clients.
Helen McNamara is our brand and digital expert. With over 12 years experience, Helen has worked across many busy industries including hospitality and FMCG, with a strong track record in planning and implementing high impact brand, digital and social campaigns. Most recently, at innocent drinks, Helen set up and led the award winning digital strategy while also executing successful campaigns such as the innocent Big Knit.
At The Marketing Office, Helen and Joseph are backed up by a team of marketing experts who give strategic input on an interim basis. These experts provide support as clients require it. They have gained their experience working with brands like Google, YouTube, L’Oreal, RTE, Franklin Templeton, Vodafone, Eir, Tesco Mobile, Marriott Hotels and more.
What are the long term plans for your product/company?
Our mission is to become the global leader in marketing management. We need to establish ourselves in Ireland first and then the UK. We’ve a hell of a long way to go but hopefully we’ll kick on from these first few steps.
What are your favourite tech gadgets?
The Internet of Things is a major buzzphrase these days and it’s creating huge opportunities. For example, the ability to capture consumer data, derive actionable insights and execute marketing campaigns in real time, is a huge plus to a marketers toolkit. Any tech developments to help exploit this space we love.
Virtual Reality is being used more and more now. Jaguar sponsored Wimbledon this year and had a Virtual Reality pod set up in London’s Waterloo train station, allowing fans to step into the shoes of Andy Murray. Expect to see this kind of thing more frequently. It will change how customers experience brands.
What tech gadgets do you wish you could use to help you?
The new hoverboard from Lexus would be a nice way to get around town, a cooler alternative to Dublin City bikes. Failing this, Garmin’s Varia Vision would certainly improve our journey around the city from meeting to meeting.
