Describe the company – the elevator pitch

SuperPixel Labs opened its doors in February 2016 on Fairgreen Road in the heart of Galway city with 50 new desk spaces, a games room, meeting room and kitchen/food garden area with a coffee machine. The space is designed to be bright, colourful, inspirational with lots of natural light, a space for creative young businesses to work and learn. The space will ideally suit small businesses with up to 8 people. Participants, or Pixel Pals as they refer to themselves, can rent as many desks as they like and there is also a breakout meeting room available for company and client meetings as well as 250mb fibre based internet and a Sonos Wifi music system.

How are you different?

Our space is much more than just a co-working office space. Superpixel Labs provides and ecosystem designed to help entrepreneurs and startups succeed. We provide not only office-as-a-service, but also events, resources and a supportive network to help your business thrive.

Why will the company do well?

As open plan offices have now become the norm and companies are becoming more aware of the importance of collaborative and Inspirational work spaces – the truly modern workspace has arrived. A Global Coworking Survey conducted by Deskmag and SocialWorkplaces.com states in the last twelve months the number of spaces has grown by 36%, putting total worldwide figure at around 7,800. The coworking movement is undeniably here to stay.

Where are you based?

Labs has a City centre location, located near to the Radisson Hotel on the Fairgreen Road in Galway, we are less than 1 minute walk from the new bus station and train station. Perfect location for those driving in from the North, South and East. The Euro car park is 1 min away on foot, and has a corporate monthly 24×7 access €65/month.

When was the company launched?

We opened our doors on 7th February 2016, so it’s all very new and shiny.

What have been your biggest wins to date?

We have been shortlisted in the Best of Galway Awards – so cheeky request, please vote for SuperPixel Labs in the professional services category, and our sister company Superpixel in the services category you have until midnight Thursday 24th march

What type of people (market segment) are you trying to attract to your product?

Labs appeals to those looking for an innovative office space and the urban experience. We provide far more than just a desk and internet access – the space is used for collaboration, networking and support, a space where we bring together a community of like-minded freelancers, entrepreneurs, startups, software developers, graduate students, social entrepreneurs, career coaches, writers and web/graphic designers into the same space.

Tell us about your team?

Our founders are Mike and Barry Duffy, both driven entrepreneurs who are passionate about what they do. They are both civil engineers from NUI Galway and both have graduated with a Masters in Project Management from Smurfit Business school. Barry also completed a Masters in Finance in Imperial College London. Mike has several years digital project management experience in Accenture before setting up Superpixel.

Tara Dalrymple is our community manager, she has strong roots in multinationals and well known household brands (Marks & spencer, ?Star Wars, ?Volvic, David Beckham, Disney, 20th Century Fox) with a varied and wide breadth of experience across different industries from IT consultancy to Financial PR. Tara was a founder of two successful companies operating in Ireland, UK and Malta. Winning a few accolades and awards along the way: Top 40 Irish Female Entrepreneurs: Image Business, Top 100 Women in Business, Winner IEDR Optimise Award and Top 38 Irish Women in Technology. She now look forward to using her contacts, experience and knowledge base within the Superpixel Labs community.

What are you long term plans for your company?

To fill up the space, run great events and to take on new spaces in multiple locations throughout Ireland and beyond.

We are all Mac heads here.
