Describe the company – the elevator pitch …

We focus on the software and hardware integration of mobile devices and wearable technology at Serafim Technologies Inc.. Our current products include world’s first projection mouse, smart laser presentation pen, and laser virtual keyboard.
iKeybo is our second crowdfunding campaign. It’s the world’s first virtual laser projection multilingual keyboard, piano, and portable charger, all in one! It comes in 4 languages and is designed with rounded keys to reduce the number of typos that are usually the result of a laser keyboard. The most unique thing about iKeybo is that you can turn your desk into a virtual piano, guitar, bass or drums for any occasion.
With the thousands of people supporting us, we will continue to develop more affordable, useful, and cool consumer electronics that enrich people’s everyday life.

How are you different?

We break the mobile’s limitation by focusing on non-contact sensing technology. Our products are faster and have low power consumption.

Because we always aim to reach the highest rank in our professional fields. Our team has extensive experience in optoelectronics industry for over 10 years.

Where are you based?

Taipei, Taiwan

Our company was founded on June 8th, 2010. We later created our brand, Serafim on March 12th, 2015.

What have been your biggest wins to date?

We launched our first brand product- ODiN, the world’s first projection mouse on Kickstarter in 2015. It has been sold to over 58 countries now with thousands of happy users.

What type of people (market segment) are you trying to attract to your product?

The majority of our backers are early adopters who are interested in advanced technology. The multiple functions of iKeybo also attract diverse group of people such as business man who envisions to use iKeybo on tray table while on the plane, or musician who wishes to have a portable piano with her anywhere. We also have backers from all over the world asking us to add additional language layouts from Thai to Turkish and from Hebrew to Hangul.

Tell us about your team?

I’m GZ, the CEO of Serafim. My expertise lies in the area of optoelectronic integration. Bill is our CTO who specializes in hardware and software design. Willy is our Product Manger who has manufacturing experience. Frank is our Senior Mechanical Engineer who specializes in mechanical design. Hairy is our Software Engineer who is great at software design.

What are you long term plans for your product / company?

We want to break the limitations of mobiles- from screen to table.

What are your favourite tech gadgets?

Pico projector.

What tech gadgets do you wish you could use to help you?

Faster Bluetooth.

Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?

The company’s name “Serafim” is actually derived from “Seraphim” who is the highest rank of angel in Christian theology and a symbol of “light”, “fire”, and “passion”. So we aim to reach the highest rank in our professional fields with our expertise in optoelectronics industry and passion in optical (=light) and mechanisms and hardware circuits (=fire).
