Describe the company – the elevator pitch …
Paessler AG was founded in 1997 by Dirk Paessler. He created PRTG Network Monitor to support System Administrators with their IT infrastructure. Our mission is to ensure computers and networks, the foundation of modern society, work reliably at all times.
How are you different?
We are a unified solution, which means we cover all bases, rather than focusing our efforts on one particular area. As a result, we work with multiple clients across a broad range of industries to provide an easier and more efficient network monitoring solution.
Why will you do well?
We’ve found that users enjoy using PRTG simply because of its ease, efficiency and cost effectiveness. In fact, 96 per cent of users would recommend PRTG, with most citing Paessler’s flexibility and the product’s capabilities as enticing benefits.
Where are you based?
The HQ is in Nuremberg, Germany, but we have employees and representation all around the world, and across the UK and Ireland.
When was the company launched?
What have been your biggest wins to date?
We are proud to be working with well-known organisations including Fulham FC, Ryan Air and a range of education and health organisations.
Who are you trying to attract to your product?
Our goal is to make life easier for IT experts so the product itself is extremely versatile and relevant for IT professionals in all industries. We are strong in the health sector where we offer holistic monitoring of classic IT and medical devices, but we are used broadly across a range of sectors.
What tips would you give to others looking to build their business?
If you rely on IT, which most companies do, you should probably invest in a monitoring solution that helps you avoid the cost and impact of downtime on your business and your customers.
Tell us about your team?
We are a dedicated team of thinkers, creators, and visionaries, but above all, we are people. In line with the idea that “we are building the company we always wanted to work for”, we attach great importance to the fact that work should be more than just a series of tasks – it can also be fun.
What are your plans for the future?
We are expanding into new markets, including Ireland, and are continually developing our product to be more attuned to IoT and business transformation. We’re currently focused on identifying a loyal and dedicated group of channel partners to help build our brand and represent our product across Ireland.
What are your favourite tech gadgets?
Ledunia – the WiFi-enabled IoT development board – and not because one of our employees built it. We love Ledunia because it’s one of the most versatile development boards for rapid prototyping any IoT application.
