Describe the company – the elevator pitch…

Oxford Global Resources is a leading staffing and consulting company with 25 offices across North America and Europe. At Oxford, we leverage 35 years of industry expertise and an ability to build long-term relationships to continuously deliver the right solutions for our clients.

How are you different?

Each member of our team specialises in a certain role within a specific industry, backed by a billion dollar company. This makes us experts in what we do.

We have a truly global reach, ensuring we source and assign the right talent, worldwide, to the right clients.

Why will you do well?

We don’t have the same person searching for multiple, different skills in different industries. As mentioned above, we specialise. Furthermore, we separate the business development and sourcing pieces of our business in order to ensure maximum focus on a skill or industry.

Secondly, our back office is incredible. With an in-house team of lawyers, accountants, IT, marketing, training and HR professionals, our recruiting experts spend all their time doing what they do best!

Where are you based?

Oxford is headquartered in Boston, MA., United States. We have 22 offices throughout the US. Our European HQ is based in Cork City, Ireland and we have another office in Zug, Switzerland as well as affiliate offices in the United Kingdom, Belgium, The Netherlands and Spain. We have just established our German company and we expect to begin trading in Q4 of this year.

When was the company launched?

Oxford was founded in 1984 but our Cork office recently celebrated our 25th anniversary this year. We marked this milestone at a recent event in our office with An Tánaiste Simon Coveney. We also announced we will be hiring 25 internal employees in 2019.

What have been your biggest wins to date?

The Cork team won the Oxford Cup in 2018, which is awarded to the Office of the Year across Oxford’s 25 global locations. This was a huge moment, as it really was a testament to the dynamic leadership team we have built at our Cork office.

Who are you trying to attract to your services?

We’re always striving to build enduring relationships with international consultants with a focus on STEM. We have separate recruiting teams specialising in digital transformation, global ERP rollouts, software and hardware engineering, IT security and infrastructure, and Validation and Quality within the life sciences industry.

Alternatively, if you’re a manager requiring senior-level resources, we’d be delighted to discuss how we can support your critical projects.

What tips would you give to others looking to build their business?

Understand fully what it is your business can do better than others; set goals and hire people who will be excited to grasp this opportunity with you; hold yourself and the team accountable to really high standards; trust yourself to deliver; and, most importantly, enjoy the journey.

Tell us about your team?

In 1994, we started with four employees in Cork and today we have 140 and are still growing.

Everyone in the front and back office is rowing in the same direction. We have a best-in-class support team which makes our incredible sales team’s job that much easier.

We take great pride in our sales growth but we have also been contributing massively to our local economy whether that is in our support of local charities, organisations or businesses. It’s a wonderful feeling to know that Oxford is having a positive effect on both our team’s personal and professional lives but also the lives of those around us.

What are your plans for the future?

We are excited to expand our team here in Cork further, which will lead to our goal of doubling our European business over the next five years.

Overall, we want Oxford to be recognised as a reliable, truly global, best-in-class partner for our clients and a caring, responsible employer, which recognises and rewards hard-work and provides opportunities for our team to develop personally, professionally and financially.

What are your favourite tech gadgets?

I love Samsung products, in particular, the Note series of phones. Bose noise cancelling headphones for business trips come in handy too.
