myhomehelper was created by Kevin Marsch to help him care for his Mum, Pat, who had been diagnosed with Vascular Dementia in 2010. Seeing how effective this was in reducing her anxiety Kevin continued adding features to the system.
After receiving positive feedback from carers, doctors and paramedics, Kevin quit his job in 2011 and formed Simpla Solutions in order to make myhomehelper available for others to benefit from.
How are you different?
myhomehelper is a tablet computer that has been specifically designed for people who struggle with modern technology. It helps to reduce anxiety and isolation and gives peace of mind, reassurance and confidence to family and carers.
Developed from ideas and feedback given from service users and carers in trials over a 4 year period, the user centred design ensures that it is ideal for people with no computer or IT experience and requires no interaction from the user for it to work.
Our simple to use tablet computer doesn’t need any interaction from your loved one. All the features simply appear without them have to touch or press anything. You control what is shown and when via the secure web control panel which you can access from anywhere. Want to video call them? Simply start the call at your end and it is automatically answered on their myhomehelper
The myhomehelper display is a tablet that has been designed to run optimally from the moment that you turn it on requiring no user interaction for it’s features to work.
It has been designed as an “always on” system and once set-up only needs to be maintained when new activities, appointments or photos etc need adding. The end user does not have to do anything other than occasionally look at the display to benefit from it – there is no other interaction required.
The myhomehelper control panel
The myhomehelper control panel is accessed via the myhomehelper website providing a simple set-up system allows you to the tailor the myhomehelper display to suit individual needs. The control panel can be accessed by family from anywhere that has access to an internet connection – be that at home, work or even on holiday.

Tell us about your team?
It has been predominantly Kevin, working on the design and proof of concept from 2011-2018. With a good reputation and tested product, Helen, his partner, has joined him on a part time basis to raise the awareness of myhomehelper.
What are your plans for the future?
Increase the number of sales of myhomehelper and number of organisations aware of the product.
