Where are you based?

Comviva’s head office and main research and development (R&D) centre is India. The other R&D centres and offices in India are located in Bangalore and Mumbai. Mahindra Comviva has expanded to serve its customers’ needs, establishing hubs in Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East through regional offices in Singapore, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Ghana, Johannesburg, Sharjah, UK, and the US.

When was the company launched?

The company was launched in 1999 and was originally Bharti Telesoft. It was christened Comviva in 2009. Thereafter, Tech Mahindra acquired a 51 per cent stake in 2012 and the company was rebranded to Mahindra Comviva in 2013.

What type of people (market segment) are you trying to attract to your product?

We would like to ensure our products and solutions reach all leading telecom operators and noted financial institutions.

What tips would you give to others looking to build their business?

Know your customer. The customer knows more than you! We firmly propagate the view that every mobility business ought to be aimed at bettering the lives of our customers, unearthing opportunities where none exist and be prepared for any challenge that the ever-changing telecom space may throw one’s way.
