Describe the company – the elevator pitch …
Jemmasophie.com is a customized personal shopping service that hand delivers clothes bundles to clients in the Dublin area.
How are you different?
My site is different because it specifically caters to the burgeoning, youthful tech-community that is such a part of the city.
Why will you do well?
I have been in the fashion/styling industry for 10+ years in New York and London, and have worked on everything from campaign shoots and editorials to most recently as a trend consultant at asos.com. I specialized in outfitting models of all sizes, specifically plus-size, maternity, tall and petite. Because of this, I really understand a wide range of bodies and how to dress everyone to their shape.
Where are you based?
I am based in Ranalegh, where I work from home when I’m not out meeting clients or shopping for them.
When was the company launched?
The site was launched only two months ago and we are already block booked for the upcoming weeks.
What have been your biggest wins to date?
I remember checking the visitor analytics on the evening of the launch day and being truly overwhelmed to see the response was so high. I think in that moment I realized the desire for this kind of service existed in this city and it felt very promising and exciting.
Who are you trying to attract to your product?
I cater to the elite tech-community that has become such a big part of Dublin. My clients are not only paying for my aesthetic and expertise, but for the convenience of direct delivery.
What tips would you give to others looking to build their business?
Understand what you feel good doing – ask yourself, what makes you feel confident? What environment do I feel comfortable in? I always felt engaged in fashion and loved being a part of it’s creativity; I realized quite early on that I wanted to start my own business dressing others and making them feel confident and good about themselves. Decide what that special skill is and pursue it without pause.
Tell us about your team?
As of now, my team is myself! In the coming months, I will definitely be looking to expand.
What are your long-term plans?
I hope to continue dressing a wide range of clients in Dublin, giving the gift of style and convenience to as many people as possible. From new moms who are relearning their shape and how to dress comfortably while feeling good, to young professionals straight out of uni. Ultimately, I hope to bring this service to more cities as I believe it has the capability to expand all over.
What are your favourite tech gadgets?
Not unlike many of us, I am attached to my phone most of the day. I spend a lot of my day consulting with clients so its important I’m always next to the phone when it rings. I also have a soft spot for Instagram as it keeps me up to date on fashion influencers and new brands.
