Describe the company – the elevator pitch…

Irish Postbox is a secure online mail management solution that offers a simple way to access your Irish postal mail anywhere you are connected to the internet, anywhere in the world.

How are you different?

We are an Irish company with a licence to operate a service that is the first of its kind in Ireland, with a secure backend system providing our customers with the peace of mind that their important documents and parcels are safe and secure in our hands.

We are the only provider of this service in Ireland. Irish Postbox gives you an online mailing address with total remote control from anywhere in the world. You have full control of your postal mail through a secure online account and you can manage your mail in real time, both sending and receiving without any delays. You can view, recycle, shred or forward your mail at the click of a button.

The Process:

  1. Mail is delivered into our secure mailing facility
  2. All mail is sorted, barcoded and input into our computerised automated system.
  3. Envelopes are scanned and uploaded to your secure Irish Postbox online account
  4. You decide what action to be taken next, well it is your post!

Your options are:

  • Scan – The envelope is opened and the contents are scanned into a PDF document. This is then uploaded to your online account where you can read, save or print out
  • Recycle – Help save the planet and yourself time by discarding unwanted mail by the click of a mouse
  • Shred – Destroy any sensitive information, safe guarding your security at no extra cost
  • Forward on – Whether opened and view online or not you can forward any item to anywhere in the world, you are in total control.

Envelopes are only opened when you request to have an item scanned for viewing in your online account. Items that you have requested to only be shredded, recycled or forwarded will never be opened.

Why will the company / product do well?

This service allows you to be mobile and never miss your postal mail by managing it online. We are the only provider with this level of privacy and security in the Republic of Ireland. Irish Postbox has partnered with iPostalmail in the UK. iPostalmail is a leading provider of online postal solutions and we have the exclusive licence to operate the system in the Republic of Ireland. This provides us with expertise and a service that is constantly evolving and innovative and has been around for over 5 years. We are currently working on developing links with other providers in Europe.

Where are you based? How long will you stay there?

The processing centre is based in Trim, Co. Meath and we plan to continue in this venue. We also offer two Dublin addresses. Dublin post is then forwarded to the mail processing centre in Trim. We have no problem with broadband issues.

When was the company launched?

The company was launched in April 2015, so early stages.

What have been your biggest wins to date?

Our biggest wins to date have been operational, organising the processing facility, incorporating the Anti Money Laundering obligations into the service, becoming familiar with everyday operational issues.

Our biggest challenge is to inform the Irish customer of this service as it is not something that is familiar.

What type of people (market segment) are you trying to attract to your product?

Individuals/ businesses who are constantly travelling or are abroad but maintain personal/business interests in Ireland. Also Irish businesses that may benefit from having their postal mail online and Start-ups who would benefit from a business address.
