Who we are Access Earth is an online platform that provides up-to-date accessibility information about buildings and public places using crowd-sourced data. In short, we are the trip advisor for the mobility impaired, removing the fear of the unknown and empowering people to go on new adventures.
What we do
Access Earth invites users to add places and leave reviews based on their experience of accessibility at these locations.
Users answer 5 short questions regarding the accessibility of a premises and add a short review highlight whether they had a positive, negative or neutral experience.

How are you different?
We are different as we allow users to add their own reviews and ratings based on their accessibility experience at a location. Most of our competitors either focus on too much detail or don’t allow for user feedback. As well as this, some of our competitor’s data is out dated. Access Earth strives off of user content that is up to date and reliable.
Why will the company / product do well?
We are providing a much needed service to people. Access Earth is removing the fear of the unknown and empowering people to embark upon new adventures to accessible locations.
For businesses, we are offering them a platform to differentiate themselves from their competitors and access to a potential market of 1 Billion people worldwide.
Where are you based? How long will you stay there?
We are currently based in Dublin, Ireland where the broadband is fine (Weather permitting). We have plans to branch out to the United States in the coming year.

What have been your biggest wins to date?
Placing third place in the World Citizenship category at the World Finals of the 2014 Microsoft Imagine Cup. As well as this we have also won the Enactus Ireland National Finals and will represent Ireland at the Enactus World Cup in October in South Africa
What type of people (market segment) are you trying to attract to your product?
Anyone with mobility impairment. This includes but is not limited to people who use a wheelchair, a walking stick, a rollator as well as parents with prams.
As well as this, we attract all types of businesses who want to gain access to a wide market of potential customers or cater specifically to these customer segments.
Tell us about your team?
Matthew McCann- Founder and Creator
Matthew is a recent First Class Masters of Software Engineering graduate whom was galvinised to create Access Earth after an experience in London in 2012. Matthew uses a rollator and feels that the information that Access Earth provides is something that the world should have access to.
Matt has worked closely with his friends at Enactus, a university society for entrepreneurial projects that help empower people world wide to develop Access Earth. The team will presenet Access Earth at the Enactus World Cup in South Africa next month (October) were they will represent Ireland in the competition.
What are you long term plans for your product / company?
Access Earth will be the go-to place for accessibility information on premises across the world and will look to provide customers with an efficient way of booking an accessible hotel, restaurant or activity in all major cities around the globe.
What are your favourite tech gadgets?
At Access Earth we are very fond of a lot of tech gadgets including our Raspberry Pi, MacBook and anything from PlayStation to Nintendo Wii U.
What tech gadgets do you wish you could use to help you?
GPS Enabled Wheelchairs would make adding new places to the Access Earth database a breeze!
