How are you different?
Apart from ensuring steady development of our market leading product, 3CX puts great emphasis on the support and continuous training of partners and end-users. This is why we are in close touch with our distributors, resellers and end-users, providing them direct support as well as regular in-house and online trainings. Our website’s community has international forums in six languages and counts almost 60,000 members discussing issues related to the installation, maintenance, administration and troubleshooting of our phone system. Moreover, we encourage all members of our online community to provide ideas of how to improve our product, which features to include or what kind of innovations they would like to see next.
Why will the company/product do well?
The way we operate is straightforward and very simple. Where are you based?
We are currently building our new headquarters in Nicosia, Cyprus to facilitate our fast growth, not just in business but also in the number of employees. In total, 3CX maintains 15 offices worldwide, but beyond that, ensures direct market access down to local levels through its 10,000 partners spread all over the globe.

When was the company launched?
3CX was launched in 2007 out of the need for a functional PBX that founder, and current CEO, Nick Galea could not find on the market for his existing business. Soon enough he had gathered around him a group of highly talented experts developing an unparalleled UC solution that made a great impact on the VoIP market. This hands-on mentality of identifying an imminent demand and gathering all necessary resources and capacities to create innovations has been a cornerstone of 3CX´s success ever since.
What have been your biggest wins to date?
Today 3CX can present proudly a long list of global leaders among our clientele including organisations such as Boeing, Hugo Boss, McDonald´s, Wilson Sports, Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts and Harley Davidson. But instead of leaning back, we are working hard on our global expansion and further business growth. Part of this strategy is the integration of technologies that have revolutionised the UC market with forward thinking solutions. Some good examples are our strategic partnerships with the PBX providers Elastix and PBX in a Flash, and the acquisitions of e-works and their innovative WebRTC technology as well as German PBX provider Askozia, whose Linux technology will also be integrated into our product.
What type of people are you trying to attract to your product?
Due to its flexible scalability, 3CX is applicable for a broad range of organisations from a small home office or SME business up to big corporations. With the option of deploying 3CX on-premise, in the cloud or even on a MiniPC, companies have the freedom of choice but at the same time full control over their PBX. The flexibility of our product also allows adjustment to specific requirements and needs of each organisation, for example, when it comes to the amount of extensions, the integration of software and databases and the bridging of remote locations.

The 3CX team is a cluster of hand-picked experts, each specialised in their field. Our team of over 100 employees encompasses more than 20 nationalities, at least 15 languages and a huge variety of individual backgrounds and experiences. This colorful mixture unfolds a great team spirit and contributes to outstanding collaboration, communication and mutual inspiration. What are your long-term plans for your product/company?
Since Unified Communications has just started to find its way into many organisations, both large and small, we see a lot of potential to increase our market presence. Current developments such as the complete switch from traditional phone line to IP accelerates the demand for VoIP solutions. But apart from that, 3CX is also well prepared to respond to significantly increasing trends such as mobile workspaces and video conferencing with existing, already fully developed solutions. Through further dedication and commitment to providing cost efficient, feature-rich and flexible solutions for internal and external communication and collaboration, we want to secure our pole position in the UC market and become the preferred point of contact for even more distributors, resellers and end-users.
What are your favourite tech gadgets?
As you can imagine, being a high-tech company, our organisation is packed with technology geeks that love exploring technology, whether it is for business purposes or just leisure. Our team members’ desks in testing and support are loaded with state-of-the-art IP phones, headsets and videoconferencing equipment. But it does not stop there. From latest mobile editions to smart watches up to drones – we love getting our hands first on the most recent fascinating companions the gadget industry is coming up with.
What tech gadgets do you wish you could use to help you?
Having seen smartphones cases brewing coffee it is very difficult to think of the next level. But maybe a teleporting device would be a great investment to take Unified Communications to the real next level.
