When is it on?
30th May 18.30 @ Republic of Work, 12 South Mall Cork
How many years has it been going?
This is the first time
Tadhg Healy Digital Services Manager City of Vancouver & Kieran OHea ex Chief Digital Officer Brisbane to speak at https://t.co/OzQuNumslc
— Kieran O'Hea (@Kieran_OHea) May 11, 2017
What was the inspiration to start it?
Cork has no digital strategy, which restricts its ability to position itself favourably in the digital economy. The event is intended to create momentum towards the development of a digital strategy.
What exciting things can people look forward to for the 2017 version?
Presentations by the former CDO of the City of Brisbane and by the Head of Digital Services of the City of Vancouver; a discussion highlighting digital diversity in the Cork region; a proposition for a strategy to grow the digital economy; initiation of a Cork Digital Inventory.
What opportunities are on offer for people/startups/investors and companies attending?
Gain a sense of Cork’s collective digital capability, the potential value of its digital economy and leave convinced that a Cork Digital Strategy is vital to fulfilling that potential.
What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?
They should be aiming to decide which is better: a local digital ecosystem which continues to develop organically or one that has some planning and support applied to it by the local authorities through a Cork Digital Strategy.
How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out? Book on Eventbrite.

Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked? This new event is taking place in Cork’s newest workspace, REPUBLIC OF WORK, which as well as housing a vibrant mix of companies and individual workers has also become an in-demand location for events, based in the heart of Cork’s most renowned business location, the South Mall. http://republicofwork.com/
